The outage appears to have been caused by CrowdStrike pushing a faulty update to its Falcon software that causes Windows machines to get stuck in a boot loop  —  On Friday morning, some of the biggest airlines, TV broadcasters, banks, and other essential services came to a standstill as a massive outage rippled across the globe.
