Apple Reports Second Quarter Results  —  37.4 Million iPhones Sold; 19.5 Million iPads Sold  —  Apple® today announced financial results for its fiscal 2013 second quarter ended March 30, 2013.  The Company posted quarterly revenue of $43.6 billion and quarterly net profit of $9.5 billion, or $10.09 per diluted share.

Apple Returning $55 Billion to Investors as Forecast Trails  —  Apple Inc (AAPL). forecast sales that missed analysts' predictions and said it will return $55 billion in cash to shareholders in a push to compensate for a stock price that's been hammered by signs of slowing growth.

Apple Sells 37.4M iPhones And 19.5M iPads In Q2, Tablet Business Shows 65% YOY Growth  —  Apple has just released its Q2 2013 earnings report, announcing sales of 37.4 million iPhones in the quarter ending March.  Apple also reported 19.5 million iPad units sold, which shows incredibly strong growth for Apple's tablet business.

Google Buys Wavii For North Of $30 Million  —  Google has finally closed the deal on Wavii, a natural language processing startup, for a price that is more than $30 million, we're hearing from a legitimate source.  —  Both Apple and Google were competing for the Seattle-based startup, and Google eventually won.

AP Twitter account hacked, makes false claim of explosions at White House  —  Anyone that follows the Associated Press on Twitter just heard “news” of an unprecedented national crisis.  “Two Explosions in the White House and Barack Obama is injured,” the AP's account tweeted moments ago.

iPhone 4 owners begin receiving their $15 ‘Antennagate’ settlement checks from Apple  —  Payday has come for some of the first responders to the iPhone 4 class action lawsuit.  Last February a settlement was reached that granted iPhone 4 owners who had not previously received a free bumper for their “defective” iPhones a $15 payout.

AT&T Q1 profit edges up as it adds 291,000 net customers  —  The telecom carrier sold 6 million total smartphones in the period.  —  AT&T reported a slight gain in profit even as revenue was a bit lighter than expected.  —  The Dallas telecommunications provider posted a first-quarter net profit of $3.7 billion, or 67 cents a share.

Fab Is Raising A Mondo Round At A $1 Billion Valuation  —  We're hearing from multiple sources that design-focused retail site Fab is raising a new round of funding at a $1 billion valuation.  The company has previously raised $171 million in funding and we're hearing it seeks to raise more than $100 million in this round.
