Apple announces the 7.9-inch iPad for $329, shipping November 2nd  —  The iPad mini has just been revealed by Apple at its special event in San Jose.  Up on stage, Phil Schiller explains that this “isn't just a shrunken-down iPad, it's an entirely new design.”

Apple iPad mini hands-on  —  Here it is, Apple's new iPad mini.  As you can see, it's certainly smaller than the regular iPad, although at 7.9 inches it's not as small as you'd expect — compared to the Nexus 7, it's noticeably larger.  That said, it's still an incredibly thin and light design.
